Compact clamping elements
Powerful under the housing
Proven clamping and braking technology for standard and compact cylinders: Series CBPS expands the Zimmer Group′s product portfolio with an innovative clamping and braking solution for pneumatic cylinders. The system is mounted directly onto standard and compact cylinders and can be integrated without significant engineering effort thanks to standardized interfaces.
Building on a track record of proven expertise in clamping and braking technology, Series CBPS combines maximum holding forces with a particularly compact design. The clamping element provides at least twice the force of a comparable pneumatic cylinder and is therefore also suitable for demanding and safety-critical applications.
Series CBPS means the choice between clamps or brakes is yours. You can enhance the process reliability of your system and benefit from a cost-effective solution for both new and existing machine designs.
Your benefits:
- More performance in a smaller installation space: More compact and lighter than the benchmark, with comparable or higher clamping force.
- Safety for dynamic applications: Explicitly designed for braking tasks, not just holding, as well as defined service life values for static and dynamic cycles.
- Simple design and integration: Piston rod tolerances that keep close to ISO standards, integrable sensors and an easy-to-assemble design.
- High availability for standard applications: Two different models, one for standard cylinders (ISO 15552) and one for compact cylinders (ISO 21287), as well as a wide range of temperatures and pressures for everyday industrial use.

The benefits at a glance
Greater safety and performance for your pneumatic cylinders
Many clamping and braking systems require additional installation space or complex modifications. Series CBPS was specifically designed to integrate seamlessly into existing pneumatic systems. The Zimmer Group offers one of the most compact pneumatic cylinder braking elements on the market, featuring high holding force, long service life and a true braking function – ideal for safe, space-saving solutions on pneumatic cylinders.
The combination of a compact design, high performance and easy adaptation creates a solution that is both technically and economically compelling.

Accessories for optimal processes
Seamlessly integrated – down to the last detail
Well-designed accessories ensure that the clamping and braking element can be quickly and easily integrated into existing applications. Guide bushings (plain bearings), piston rod extensions for internal and external threads and special fastening screws allow for optimal adaptation to the specific installation situation.
A particular advantage is the fastening screws with integrated internal threads. Since accessories are often mounted directly on the end of pneumatic cylinders, the standard mounting options remain fully available even after the clamping and braking element has been installed. Existing components can continue to be used as-is.
This allows you to benefit from a solution that integrates seamlessly into existing engineering designs, reduces engineering effort and enables rapid commissioning.

Installation variants
As compact as it is versatile. Here are some of the installation options available with Series CBPS:

CBPS mounted on a cylinder.

CBPS on a plate without a cylinder for clamping round guides.

Multiple clamps can be stacked on top of each other to achieve a greater holding force.
